Nicole Casaccio – WBA Executive Member – President 

Nicole is currently retail manager at her family’s produce store, Casaccio Egg Farm Werribee

Since joining basketball with her son and daughter for u8s over 10 years ago, Nicole has found a love for basketball and those around her that share the same values for commitment, dedication and perspective.

Nicole has a breath of experience across the domestic basketball landscape, having roles on court including coaching, team manager and score table along with, committee roles including registrar and President for Flames Basketball club.

Additionally, Nicole has an understanding of the representative landscape, having volunteered in volunteered in different roles, including assisting with junior representative tryouts. Nicole’s daughter has played for Wyndham in VJBL for 3 years.

Nicole is very passionate about the community and local ventures. Moving forward Nicole looks forward to working with likeminded people, learning a new perspective of Wyndham Basketball for a positive and productive team environment.

Josh Clarke – WBA Executive Member – Vice President

I have been involved in basketball for over 20 years and have experienced the game from almost every angle. My journey includes playing, coaching, refereeing, and game-day supervising, with involvement spanning grassroots basketball through to senior representative pathways and Big V competition.

My professional background is in paramedicine, which has shaped my approach to leadership through clear communication, calm decision-making, accountability, and a strong focus on people and safety. These skills translate directly into my work within basketball, particularly in high-pressure environments where fairness, consistency, and support are essential.

As Vice President of Wyndham Basketball, I am committed to supporting our clubs, volunteers, officials, and athletes, strengthening development pathways, and ensuring the association continues to grow as a safe, inclusive, and community-focused organisation that develops not just better basketballers, but better people.

Chantelle McKinnis – WBA Executive Member – Treasurer

‘Chantelle McKinnis brings extensive experience in financial management to her role as Treasurer of the Wyndham Basketball Association. In her professional life, Chantelle works within a managerial position of a family owned business. For the WBA, Chantelle, plays a key role in overseeing the association’s financial operations and ensuring strong governance practices.

Beyond her executive duties, Chantelle is also an active member of the Technical Officials Commission – Wyndham Basketball (TOC-WB), where she supports the development and coordination of referees and technical officials. Her ongoing contributions reflect a deep commitment to fostering a strong, inclusive basketball community across all levels of the game. Chantelle is an accredited A grade referee, Grade 2 Referee Coach, and Level 2 score table official, and in the process of completing the Level 3 score table course.

Sarah Sherwood – WBA Executive Member – Secretary

Sarah joined the WBA Executive as Secretary in 2025. Sarah has experience working in Operations Management and is currently working as a Secondary School Teacher, within the local area. Sarah began playing basketball domestically within the WBA from the age of 5 and currently represents Wyndham through the BigV Representative Program. Sarah is passionate about community sports and enhancing opportunities for participants, specifically aspiring to encourage females to be active, and involved in the basketball scene.

 

Leigh Bellingham  – Championship Chairperson

Leigh joined the WBA Executive as Championship Chairperson (overseeing the Wyndham representative program) at the recent 2025 AGM.

 

Stacey Heberle – WBA Executive Member – Domestic Chairperson

Stacey has been involved in basketball since before she could walk! Coming from a sporting family that was heavily involved in various local sporting communities in her hometown of Geraldton WA, Stacey has formed a strong passion for community and grass roots sport in particular. Having been a player, referee, and coach at various levels within the sport of basketball and netball, along with holding positions on executive committees in both sports, Stacey brings a wealth of knowledge to the WBA Executive in this area. Since moving to Melbourne in 2017, Stacey became a part of the Seabrook Basketball Club community as her nephews became old enough to learn and enjoy the game, she has been a part of the Seabrook/Point Cook committees since early 2018.

In a professional capacity Stacey has a background working in Finance for over 10 years, and working in Local Government and Program & Event Management over the past 13 years.

Stacey is looking forward to working with the domestic clubs as we aim to make Wyndham Basketball the destination association in the West.

Tate Wheatland – TOC Chairperson

Tate joined the WBA Executive as TOC Chair at the recent 2025 AGM.

Tate commence his involved at Wyndham for around 14 years from when he started playing at the age of 9. At the age of 13, Tate became a referee and since that time have represented Wyndham and Basketball Victoria at two (2) Australian Junior Championships (U16s & U20s).

Currently a level 3 referee officiating in the NBL1 South League and Big V, a level 3 scoretable official having completed one (1) season of WNBL and three (3) seasons with the NBL.  An accredited grade 2 referee coach, Tate assists in the presentation and delivery of referee education and training courses. If Tate is not on court refereeing , he can be usually found at the stadium helping teach the next generation of young referees.
